Beyond this coastline, why not consider some of the other superb destinations that are just a short distance from here?
Italy
Italy's west coast has three regions to consider. In the north, the Italian Riviera from Portofino round to the Cinque Terre is a coastline that is elegant, sophisticated, suave and refined - the epitome of smart set Italiano. The Napoleon coast includes Capri, Ischia, Amalfi, Ravello and Positano - places of stunning natural beauty that are enhanced by a yacht that allows you to escape the crowds, bask on a private beach of your own and arrive without the life-shortening experience of driving along the mountain roads. The third region includes Sicily and the Lipari islands. Wild and simple, these places have some of the oldest and strongest traditions in Europe and brilliant scuba-diving and cruising waters.
The Amalfi Coast
This coastline is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. The shore abounds in hills, cliffs, olive groves and vineyards - while the shopping, nightlife and restaurants are some of the Mediterranean's finest. The neighbouring Pontine Islands are a popular tourist destination among Italians, but still foreigners still seem a sort of rarity. Here you'll find wild herbs and flowers, secluded beaches and delightful grottoes.
Sardinia
Sardinia is an ancient island rich in history and legend. Human settlements date all the way back to the Neolithic Age. Sardinia's Costa Smeralda is where many of the top yachts come to anchor in Cala di Volpe, Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo. Legendary parties, laid-back lunches - the Costa Smeralda is quintessential luxury unlimited.
Corsica
The attraction of Corsica lies in nature, not artifact. Corsica's Calvi to Bonifacio is one of the most breathtaking itineraries in the Mediterranean - the red rocks of Calvi diving into a navy blue sea and sandy bays tumbling south via Ajaccio to Bonifacio. This was Napoleon's cliff-top citadel and where Admiral Nelson lost one of his eyes. Entering the harbour past gigantic rocks is like a rite of passage.
